Piotr Pawlak Jazztet, an initiative by the young Polish drummer, was established in December 2009. In April 2012 the group received The Best Band Award (3.200 Euro) at 48th "Jazz Nad Odra" Festival & Competition, Wroclaw / Poland. In July 2012 – II Prize Award (1.500 Euro) - 36th Getxo International Jazz Competition, Getxo / Spain. Two months later, in September 2012 they appeared in the The Finalists of 5th European Jazz Contest, Rome / Italy, where Karel Eriksson (trombone) was honored with “Outstanding Soloist Award“
Piotr Pawlak Jazztet, in between 2009-2013, performed at European festivals, in universities and small venues in: Austria, Croatia, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, and Switzerland, and released their live début album “Wist Werk” (2011). In 2013 musicians spread around the globe to flourish their artistic skills. While living in New York, Berlin, Graz and Amsterdam the spirit of The Band never faded away and will to perform together again, grew stronger. Up-coming reunion is inevitable.
